About

What this site is

FDE.LI is an open practice standard and example library for FDE (forward deployed engineering), maintained by Yanhuang Epoch. It covers one thing only: how to do FDE well. LI is read as 例 (li), the Chinese word for example, so FDE.LI means FDE examples.

It is written for people who do FDE, people who want to start, and technical leads who assess service providers for their company. Clause numbers, version numbers and anchors can all be cited directly.

How the three sites divide the work

Site What it covers
FDE.LI Method: the six standards, the onboarding and acceptance checklists, design patterns and de-identified cases
OPC.NG Running a one-person company: policies, contracts, tools and finding work
Yanhuang Epoch website Engagements: companies looking for a team

Each piece of content lives on one site only. The other sites link to it.

What this site does not do

  • It collects no personal information: no forms, accounts, comments, analytics scripts or cookies. Your checklist answers stay in your own browser.
  • It names no clients and shows nothing that could identify a client, and no specific figures or percentages.
  • It quotes no prices and assigns no work.
  • It does not name other service providers.

Maintainer

This site is maintained by Yanhuang Epoch (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd. Content is credited to the Yanhuang Epoch FDE team.

Access logs

The server keeps only standard access logs, to troubleshoot faults and fend off attacks. The last part of each IP address is removed, and the logs are deleted after 30 days. This site uses no analytics scripts.

Licence

Content on this site is licensed under CC BY 4.0 . You may copy, share and adapt it, including for commercial use, as long as you credit the source. The site code is not covered by this licence.

How to cite

Clauses, acceptance points, checklist items and terms each have a Copy citation button. The copied text includes the standard name, the version, the clause number and a link with an anchor, for example:

FDE.LI Six Delivery Standards v1.0, 2 Terms and definitions, Invisible. https://fde.li/en/glossary/#wugan

Anchors for clauses, checklist items and terms never change once published, even if a name changes.

Reporting errors

If you find an error or have a better wording, please tell us through the contact details on the Yanhuang Epoch website, and include the clause number or anchor. We check it, update the text and record the change in the changelog.
